    Create a free account, choose "business owner", and walk through a short setup: your business name, what you do, where you're based, and how far you travel for work. This is what clients see when they find you.

    List each service you offer and choose how it works: a standard one-to-one appointment (hourly, per interval or fixed pricing), a multi-unit service if you have several identical resources such as rooms, vehicles or kayaks, or a group session if multiple people join the same slot such as yoga classes, fishing sessions or workshops. Set your price, add a description and configure the details. You can change everything later.

    Set your availability

    Tell Bookd which days and hours you work, and block out holidays or days off. Clients can only ever book slots that are genuinely free — no double bookings, ever. For group session services, your availability settings control which days are open for bookings. Session times are managed directly on each service, where you add individual sessions with their own start time, end time and capacity.

    Set your cancellation policy

    Write your own cancellation policy (or use our sensible default). It's shown to every client before they confirm a booking and included in their reminder emails, so there are no surprises.

    Go live and share your link

    Your booking page goes live at your own web address. Share it on Instagram, WhatsApp and business cards — there's a QR code and a printable poster built in. You also appear in the Bookd directory so local clients can find you.

    You'll get an email when your booking is confirmed, a reminder 48 hours before your appointment, and updates if anything changes. You can also share photos and documents with the business on each booking.

    Open the quote builder from your dashboard, the enquiries page or the clients page. Pick the client (or type a new email), then add line items — pull from your services or write custom items with hours, days, items or fixed pricing. The total calculates live as you go.

    Add the details

    Attach supporting documents, photos or design files, add a deposit note, set the payment note and choose an expiry date (30 days by default). Private internal notes stay just for you — clients never see them.

    Send it

    Your client gets a clean email with the full breakdown and two buttons: accept or decline. You're notified the moment they respond. Need to change something? Edit and resend — the quote becomes a new revision and the client is told automatically.

Managing enquiries

Questions come before bookings. Bookd keeps them organised.

Clients enquire from your page. Every business page has an enquiry form. Potential clients can ask a question, say which service they're interested in, and attach photos, plans or documents — up to 5 files per enquiry.

You reply without leaving Bookd. Enquiries land in your dashboard with a badge in your navigation so nothing slips. Open one, read it, view their files, and reply — attaching your own files if it helps. Your reply is emailed to them with your address as the reply-to, so the conversation continues naturally.

Turn enquiries into business. From any enquiry you can send a quote with one click — the client's details are pre-filled. Private internal notes on each enquiry help you remember the context, and every enquiry is stored against the client's history.

Group sessions and multi-unit bookings

Bookd is not just for one-to-one appointments. Whether you run group experiences, rent out resources or offer fixed sessions with multiple participants, Bookd handles it natively — without any extra tools.

Standard appointments

The default booking type. One client books one slot and that time is blocked for everyone else. Perfect for hairdressers, personal trainers, cleaners, plumbers, therapists, carpenters and any solo service business taking individual appointments.

Multi-unit bookings

Do you have more than one of something? A B&B with 5 rooms, a car hire business with 4 vehicles, a kayak hire company with 10 kayaks? Set the service to multi-unit and tell Bookd how many units you have. Multiple clients can book the same slot simultaneously — one unit per booking — until all units are taken. Clients see how many are remaining as they browse. The waiting list opens automatically at capacity.

A B&B with 5 different rooms creates 5 separate services — The Oak Room, The Garden Suite and so on. Each room has its own price, availability and booking history. Your calendar shows every room at a glance.

Group sessions

Running yoga classes, workshops, fishing sessions or anything where multiple people join the same slot at the same time? Set the service to group session and add individual sessions — each with its own date, start time, end time and capacity. Clients browse available sessions, see spaces remaining and join with one tap. A morning fishing session and an afternoon session on the same lake are two separate sessions within the same service — each with its own capacity.

Add and manage sessions directly from your Services page. Cancel a session and all participants are notified automatically. Close a session early to stop new bookings. Block a date on your Availability page and no sessions can be booked that day.

Reviews

Your reputation, built automatically from real bookings.

Invitations are automatic. 24 hours after you mark a booking complete, your client receives a friendly email asking how it went, with a link to a simple review page — a 1–5 star rating and an optional written review.

Only genuine clients can review. Reviews are tied to completed bookings and each booking can only be reviewed once, so your rating reflects real work for real clients.

They work for you. Reviews appear on your public page with your average star rating in the header. You can respond publicly to any review from your Reviews page — a thoughtful response to feedback often says more than the review itself.

Security and privacy

Your business runs on trust. So does ours.

UK GDPR. Bookd is UK based and built to UK GDPR standards. You stay in control of your data: you can view, correct or delete it at any time, and our privacy policy explains everything in plain English.

Encryption. All traffic to and from Bookd is encrypted with TLS, and your data is stored encrypted at rest. Files shared on bookings live in private storage that only the two people on that booking can access.

What we store and why. We store your account details (name, email, phone) so you can sign in and be contacted about bookings; your business profile so clients can find and book you; and booking details (dates, times, addresses, comments and shared files) so both sides have an accurate record. We don't sell data, and we don't show ads.

Account security. Passwords are securely hashed, repeated failed sign-ins are locked out, and signed-in sessions time out automatically after inactivity.

Pricing and trial

Bookd costs £19.99 per month, billed monthly. That includes your booking page, unlimited bookings, automatic reminders, notifications, file sharing, your client book, analytics, and a QR code and printable poster for your link. There's no commission on bookings and no per-client charges — the price is the price.

Unlike commission-based platforms, Bookd never takes a percentage of your bookings. No surprise fees when a new client finds you. No cut taken when your business is busy. Just one predictable monthly subscription.

The trial. Every new business gets the full product free for 14 days, with no credit card required. Your trial starts when you go live. Near the end, you simply add a payment method to keep your page online.

Cancelling. Cancel anytime from your dashboard in two clicks. Your page stays live until the end of the period you've paid for, and there are no cancellation fees.

Frequently asked questions

How long does setup take?

Most businesses are live in 10–15 minutes. You'll need your service list and prices to hand — everything else can be edited later from your dashboard.

Do my clients need an account to book?

No. Clients can book as a guest with just their name and email. If they create a free account they can also manage their bookings, get reminders in their notification centre, and rebook in two taps.

How do reminders work?

Bookd automatically emails both you and your client 48 hours before every confirmed booking. The client's reminder includes the full details, your cancellation policy, and a note about late cancellation fees.

Do I still need a website?

For most small service businesses, no. Your Bookd page has your description, services, prices, availability, social links and contact details — and unlike a static website, clients can actually book from it.

How do payments work?

Payments for your services are arranged directly between you and your client, exactly as they are now — cash, bank transfer, card machine, whatever suits you. Bookd never takes a commission on your bookings.

Can I use Bookd on my phone?

Yes. Bookd works in any browser on any device. Your dashboard, calendar and notifications all work beautifully on mobile, so you can approve a booking from the van between jobs.

What happens when someone requests a booking?

You get an instant email and an in-app notification. You can accept, decline, or propose a different time — the client is automatically kept up to date at every step.

What happens if I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel anytime from your dashboard. Your booking page comes offline at the end of your billing period, and you can export your client details before you go. No lock-in, no cancellation fees.

Is my client data safe?

Yes. Your data is stored encrypted in the UK/EU, protected by row-level security so only you can see your clients, and never sold or shared. Bookd is built to UK GDPR standards.

Can clients cancel or change a booking?

Clients can edit or cancel up to 12 hours before the start time — after that, changes go through you directly. Any change to a confirmed booking comes back to you for re-approval.

What does the free trial include?

Everything. The 14-day trial is the full product — booking page, quotes, reminders, client book, analytics, file sharing — with no credit card required. If Bookd isn't for you, just walk away.

How does pricing work for each service?

Price each service the way that suits it: hourly, a fixed price, per interval (for example £40 per 30-minute session), or as a free enquiry. You set the price, the interval length and the duration, and clients see exactly what they'll pay before they book.

Can I have clients come to me, or do I go to them?

Both — and you decide per service. Set a service to take place at the client's location (for mobile work) or at your own premises (for salons, studios or workshops). Clients always see where the appointment happens before they confirm, and provide their address when it's needed.

Can I control how often bookings start?

Yes, with slot intervals. Choose whether bookings can start every 15, 30 or 60 minutes and Bookd only ever offers clients start times that fit — keeping back-to-back appointments tidy and your day running the way you want.

Can two clients book the same slot?

I run fishing sessions with a maximum of 5 anglers per session — can Bookd handle that?

Yes. Set the service to group session and add your sessions — morning, afternoon or any slots you offer — each with a capacity of 5. Clients see available spaces and join until the session is full. The waiting list opens automatically at capacity.

I hire out cars or equipment — can multiple people book on the same day?

I run yoga classes — can I set different capacities for different classes?

Yes. Each session you add to a group session service has its own capacity setting. Your Tuesday morning class can hold 20 people, your Saturday workshop 8 — set them independently.
