This policy explains what personal data Bookd collects, how we use it, and your rights under UK data protection law (UK GDPR).
1. Who we are
Bookd is operated by Daniel Lockwood, trading as Bookd, a sole trader registered in England and Wales. For anything relating to your personal data, contact support@get-bookd.co.uk.
2. What data we collect
- Registration data — name, email address, password (stored as a secure hash), phone number, address.
- Business profile data — business name, description, location, and any documents you upload.
- Booking data — service, date, time, address, comments and any files attached to a booking.
- Payment data — processed by Stripe. We do not store card details.
- Usage data — login times and pages visited.
- Communications — enquiry messages and quotes sent through the platform.
3. How we use your data
- To provide the platform service.
- To send booking confirmations and reminders.
- To process subscription payments.
- To send service communications.
- To comply with legal obligations.
4. Lawful basis
We process your data on the basis of contract performance for registered users (we need your data to provide the service you signed up for), and legitimate interests for platform security and fraud prevention.
5. Data retention
- Active accounts — data is retained while your account is active, plus 30 days after deletion.
- Backups — backup copies are retained for 90 days.
- Legal hold — data may be retained longer if required by law.
6. Data sharing
We share data only with the service providers we need to run the platform:
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Supabase — database and file storage.
- Resend — email delivery.
- Vercel — hosting.
We do not sell personal data. We do not share data with third parties for marketing.
7. Your rights under UK GDPR
You have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- rectification — correct inaccurate data;
- erasure — ask us to delete your data;
- portability — receive your data in a usable format;
- restriction — limit how we process your data;
- objection — object to certain processing.

9. International transfers
